Emerging Scholars offers an academic enrichment program dedicated to helping young scholars prepare for the academic and social transition into middle school. Our program was designed to support students who demonstrate strong academic aptitude and curiosity, but may be facing financial barriers that could make attending an independent or private school challenging.

You are eligible to apply if:

• Citizenship: Citizen or permanent resident of the United States

• Location: DC Metropolitan Area

• Grade: Currently in Grade 4 within public school (if below Grade 4 please email us before filling out this form)

• Income: Have significant financial need

While many factors are considered when determining acceptance into Emerging Scholars Academy, this chart can help families better understand their potential eligibility and the possibility of receiving financial assistance for middle school through one of our independent school partners.

We encourage families to use this information as a starting point and to contact us with any questions about the application process, eligibility, or the independent school financial aid process.

The Ideal Candidate for Emerging Scholars:

• Has an overall academic average of B+ or above

• Currently enrolled in Public School

• Participates in extracurricular activities in school and the community

• Demonstrates leadership potential

• Receives positive teacher recommendations
